I. General Site Observations:
What do you notice about the school as you come in; what was going on outside school or in the hall; what is it like over in the after school program; what is the feeling in the computer room/study room/cafeteria as the children enter? Are there other activities in the school that may be affecting the environment or atmosphere of the Fifth Dimension/Learning Partners? What are the feelings and attitudes of other ASU interns; what kinds of interactions and activities are taking place between the ASU interns before the Fifth Dimension/Learning Partners begins?
II. Activity Observation:
In this section describe the interactions between you and the child(ren) as accurately and thoughtfully as you can. Note how you and the child(ren) interacted with one another, how you arrived at a specific activity, what their reaction was to the activity, and what difficulties or problems they encountered with the game. Pay close attention to dialogue, language use and strategies the children attend to during the game/lesson. Describe negative instances, ways the interaction breaks down, or misunderstandings about the games as well as positive events.
III. Reflection:
In this section, reflect (interpret, speculate, etc.) on the interactions and events you described in your observations
IV. Course Connections:
In this section you will reflect on a topic or theme from your SPE/CI 2800, Teachers, Schools and Learners class. Throughout the semester, your instructor will identify specific topics such as learner differences, self as teacher, and ZPD.
